This blog post is part of the Sponge Chats video series.

Recently, I had the pleasure to speak with edtech specialist, Joe Dale. Joe has been involved in language teaching for a VERY long time, and has focused on edtech for a large portion of that time, so I was really excited to sit down with him and pick his brain. For those of you interested, he is also a podcaster, and regularly does podcasts and webinars with a tech focus.
In this Sponge Chat, we looked at Joe’s journey into edtech, and then how edtech might be viewed and implemented within an ELT context. We spoke about certain frameworks that one might use to evaluate how tech is being used, and we also looked at some book recommendations for you readers out there:
- Fitzpatrick’s The AI classroom
- White’s What’s their why?
- Miller’s Ditch that textbook!
- And of course, one can always reads the posts from the Twitter hashtag #MFLTwitterati
And, just FYI, I got back from IATEFL a few days ago, and will have something out to you all shortly regarding my experience and takeaways 🙂
