Last week I got to sit down with established materials writer Emma Heyderman, who has written many materials including titles such as Compact Key for Schools and Complete PET. She was kind enough to share her journey from teacher to materials writer (and trainer and academic manager) as well as her thoughts on her work and the whole editorial process.
This Sponge Chat really looked at the work that goes behind course books and materials. I found it truly insightful and I have no doubt that teachers that are looking to move into materials writing will as well. With this in mind, I hope you all enjoy the chat – if you do please give us a like, subscribe and comment!
If you would like to keep up to date with Emma’s journey, thoughts, etc., remember to check out her blog, From ELT Teacher to Infinity – I can’t recommend it enough!
